BC First Nations Support the Bill Reid Foundation

First Nations are helping to raise funds for the Bill Reid Foundation.

The first fundraising effort was the Mystic Feast Dinner on June 12, 2002 at the Coco Pazzo Restaurant in Vancouver. Jim Byrnes donated his time entertain the guests a true blues and jazz style, while a silent auction of several items added to the fundraising efforts.  Overall the event raised roughly $12,000.  The event was presented by the Ktunaxa/Kinbasket Tribal Council and the Assembly of First Nations BC Region with the support of the First Nations Summit.

First Nation fundraising efforts are led by Chief Sophie Pierre (Ktunaxa/Kinbasket Tribal Council), Vice-Chief Herb (Satsan) George (Assembly of First Nations BC Region and First Nations Summit Task Group), with the support of George Watts.
